Don't know what to say about this. A mercury prize nominee, electronica artist Jon Hopkins. A great album in my mind, worth listening from A to Z. I'd argue it's a mixture between minimal/ambient, but who am I to say what keywords are right? Great for intense listening, doesn't work as well with single songs or casual listening. Pretty intense, but a good mind clearer. Similar to The Field - Yesterday and Today.
Best album of 2014 for me. If you're interested, there is also a release called Asleep Versions, which suggests a more calm rendering of some of the tracks from Immunity. Not as good as the original, but worth checking out if you get hooked.
The artist himself comes from a movie score composer background and this album definitely has this feel, but fear not - it is definitely able to stand on its own.
